"Boris Garlitsky is an extremely lively musician of high intelligence and flexibility, with a wonderfully round tone and solid reliable technique ¡¦ Concert Master of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Mr. Garlitsky measures up to every Concert Master of the world¡¯s top orchestras, such as New York, Vienna, Berlin etc., and can play an outstanding role in all leading international orchestras.¡±
These are the words of Kurt Masur, one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, with whom Boris Garlitsky worked together throughout many years. And still, Mr. Masur¡¯s words grasp but a part of Boris Garlitsky¡¯s musical richness.
In 1982, Boris Garlitsky won the Italian Paganini Competition and began his career as a soloist. Since then, he has played, among others, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia as well as the Milan based Giuseppe Verdi Orchestra and the British Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. His interpretations of Shostakovich¡¯s violin concerto with the Orchestra National de Lyon were praised in the press. "The intensity and irresistible force of persuasion brought to it by all the skill of Boris Garlitsky was worthy of the work¡¯s first interpreter, David Oistrakh¡±, the Lyon Figaro commented.
Mr. Garlitsky is an active participator in several international music festivals. He regularly takes part in the Pablo Casals Festival in France, Mostly Mozart in New York, the London Proms, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and Gidon Kremer¡¯s Chamber Music Festival at Lockenhaus in Austria. Also, Mr Garlitsky performs for the BBC, Radio France as well as a number of radio stations in Italy, Russia and the United States. He has recorded for RCA, Naxos, Chandos and Polymnie.
"Boris Garlitsky was a worthy partner of Anne-Sophie Mutter in Bach¡¯s double concerto, performed together with the London Philharmonic¡¦ Let us concentrate on the gigantic chaconne from the partita in d minor for violin solo: Mr. Garlitsky¡¯s interpretation as such made this a concert of outstanding class. Highly differentiated and uniquely colourful in play, Mr. Garlitsky¡¯s brilliant intellectual understanding of the piece and expressive characterisation of the individual variations reflected the authenticity and individual depth of the artist¡¯s Bach interpretation¡± (Dr. Karl Georg Berg).
Garlitsky is an outstanding chamber musician and member of the Hermitage String Trio, praised right and left in critical reviews: "¡¦ undoubtedly one of finest of its type, with discipline and musicianship second to none¡±(www.classicalsource.com); "true brilliance! This ensemble will do much to put more string trio repertoire on the musical map¡± (Strad); "with virtuosic elegance and, above all, affection¡± (Hexham and District Music Society); "that gentle exaltation of chamber music which passes by the dramatic gestures of symphonic music but rather expresses intimate and the profound, which goes straight to the heart and transports you to a dream¡± (Nice Matin).
Mr. Garlitsky¡¯s repertoire is amazingly rich. Among his partners are Pinchas Zuckerman, Gidon Kremer, Marta Argerich, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Vadim Repin, Truls Mork, Maria-Joao Pires. Last but not least, Mr. Garlitsky is so popular among his colleagues due to his amiable character. "Garlitsky¡¯s charisma is glaringly obvious. And how! A first violin of such imposing presence is a blessing for any ensemble¡± (La Montagne).
Born in Russia, Mr. Garlitsky received his first music lessons from his father, the author of the standard textbook for young violinists, "Step by Step¡±. He studied with Professor Yankelevich at the Moscow Conservatory, and afterwards worked as the Concertmaster for the Moscow Virtuosi and the London Symphony Orchestra, the Covent Garden Opera, the Vienna ORF Orchestra, the Hamburg Philharmonic and many more.
Today, Mr. Garlitsky devotes a large amount of his time to education. He holds a chair at two outstanding music Institutes, the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris and the Folkwang Universitat der Kunste, Essen (Germany). In addition, Mr. Garlitsky offers master classes on a yearly basis at the most renowned music institutions including the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, the Peabody Conservatoty in Baltimore, Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule in Berlin and Kronberg Academy.
"He is also very successful as a teacher and his instruction would be an enrichment for any musical institution, be it orchestra or music academy. His knowledge, his energy, his honesty and his ability to connect with people and create harmony are in my opinion the quintessence of why he can serve as a role model and ¡®leading light¡¯ for the young generation.¡± (Kurt Masur)

Born in Alsace, Philippe Muller was raised in both the French and German musical traditions that characterize that province. He has always had an open mind to different cultures and carries on with a multi-faceted career.
He performs an extensive repertoire, not only as a soloist, but also as a member of various chamber music ensembles.
In 1970 he founded with Jacques Rouvier and Jean- Jacques Kantorow a piano trio particularly appreciated for its dynamism and homogeneity.
Seven years of work with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, founded in France by Pierre Boulez, have enabled him to understand and manage the music of our time.
In 1979 he succeeded his master Andre Navarra as cello teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris. He now carries on with his pedagogy at Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Many of the cellists he has trained, such as Xavier Phillips or Gautier Capucon, for example, are enjoying remarkable individual careers of their own.
?Philippe Muller is invited to give master-classes in the most prestigious institutions, particularely in Kyoto, Japan, where he has been involved for twenty two years in an academy of French music.
Many festivals invite him regularly to perform around the world. He performs primarly in Europe, but also in Canada, United States, Latin America, Japan and Korea.
His extensive discography reflects his personality and presents a range of works from Vivaldi, Beethoven and Brahms to Faure, Ravel, Martinu, Malec and Merlet , not to mention the complete suites of JS Bach.
He plays a 1756 Gennaro Gagliano cello.

After finishing her higher education in the USA, Peggy Bouveret completed her vocal studies in Europe, in particular in London at the Guildhall School of Music, and then at the Covent Garden Opera Centre. She made her debut as an international performing artist at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in the role of Mimi in La Boheme, and thereafter sang in many of the world's great opera houses: Paris (Chatelet, Radio France, Salle Pleyel, Festival de St. Denis, Palais de Chaillot), Frankfurt, Vienna, Madrid, Geneva, Brussels, Angers, Metz, Dijon, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse, Tours, Nantes, Rennes, Rio de Janiero, San Paolo, Festival des Arcs, Festival de Saint Cere, Villa Medici de Rome, Ile de la Reunion¡¦ under the baton of such famous conductors as James Levine, Manuel Rosenthal, Sylvain Cambreling, Julius Rudel, Vittorio Negri, Jeffrey Tate, Raymond Leppard, Jean Fournet, Giuseppe Patane, Jean-Pierre Marty, Marc Soustrot, Reynald Giovaninetti, Jean Bernard Pommier (with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra), Manuel Rosenthal, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Gilbert Amy and Peter Eotvos.
If her generous soprano lirica voice allowed her to sing a great variety of repertoires in opera, recital and contemporary music, it was Mozart and bel canto which became the central pillars of her career. Of the former, she interpreted Countess, Susanna, Fiordiligi, Constanza, Elvira, Anna, Electra and Ilia (Idomeneo) and Pamina, whereas in the italian repertoire, she sang La Sonnambula and Il Pirata by Bellini, Viva la Mamma by Donizetti, and by Puccini, La Bohme (Mimi and Musetta) and Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta). Her voix was also ideal for the great French opera heroines including Manon, Thais and Le Cid (l'Infante) by Massenet, Romeo et Juliette, Faust and Mireille by Gounod, and Bizet's Carmen (Michaela).
The Metropolitan Opera invited her also to sing roles such as Therese in Les Mamelles de Tiresias by Poulenc and Jenny in Mahagonny by Kurt Weill. There is, in fact, no repertoire to which she had not lent her voice with succes: Wagner (Gotterdammerung), Britten (Turn of the Screw), Purcell (Dido and Aeneas), Vivaldi (La Fida Ninfa), Offenbach (Robinson Crusoe), Michael Nyman (The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat), Philidor (Le Sorcier), Debussy (La Demoiselle Elue), Poulenc (La Voix Humaine), Strauss (Die Fledermaus) and the title role in The Merry Widow by Franz Lehar.
A few examples of her vast and eclectic repertoire as a concert artist : Verdi (Requiem), Handel (Messiah), Bach (Cantate 51: Jauchzet Gott), Mozart (Exultate Jubilate), Mahler (Symphony N¡Æ2), Orff (Carmina Burana), Villa-Lobos (Bachianas Brasileiras), Schubert (The Shepherd on the Rock).
Alongside her extraordinary career as a singer, Peggy Bouveret taught at France's top conservatoire, le CNSM in Paris for 16 years until the mandatory retiremant as well as the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris for over 10 years. Now Peggy Bouveret teaches at La Schola Cantorum in Paris. She gives many masterclasses (France, Italy, Japan, Finland) and is frequently member of juries for prestigeous international music competitions.
From Broadway musical to oratorio, from recital to grand opera, the more than varied professional experience makes of Peggy Bouveret a truly complete artist, and thanks to an extravert personality, she has been to places that other divas have shied away from : on one occasion, for the street company "Royale de Luxe", she sang extracts of Wagner's Tannhauser suspended from a crane 30m from the ground at 9 o'clock in the morning.
